Long Island art, landscapes and land art.

What is the connection between nature and art? Why does art inhabit natural spaces? Why is (or was) long island a magnet for artists?

Light out here is special. Mist and fog come to live, covering dunes, fields, roads, the ocean... It feels very special. I wonder why. Maybe because you see things a different way, portraying the complexities and also beauty of life. How truth and perspectives are relative. I was very impressed by the art scene on the “east end” (as many call it) of the island. Proximity to New York city and light make this part of the world a center for creativity.
